Scripts were written by Robert Arthur, Jr. and David Kogan, who were also responsible for The Mysterious Traveler. The stories were recycled versions of the more popular episodes of that parent program.

The Strange Dr. Weird also derived its stories from Mysterious Traveler, but were condensed into 15-minute episodes. Dr. Weird replayed mostly supernatural thrillers, while murder mysteries were reserved for the full-length formatThe Sealed Book.

Luckily, many of the Mysterious Traveler scripts that have been lost to time have been preserved as Sealed Book episodes!
